GEA Liquid Processing

GEA Liquid Processing is more known for their comprehensive systems engineering and project management capabilities for the pharmaceutical, biotech & personal care industries. However, they have in their portfolio a range of unique development systems including:

  • High-Pressure Homogenization / Cell Disruption
    • GEA Niro Soavi VHP PANDA homogenizer. The PANDA homogenizer is a tabletop model designed for the laboratory needs of biotechnology, cosmetic and pharmaceutical companies. It is a unique unit, with the ability to process small volumes of liquids and pumpable fluids, homogenizing samples at rates up to approx. 160 ml/min, at pressures that can reach 21,750 psi. The internal design has special features permitting the homogenizer to handle feeds at high viscosity up to 20,000 cP and at temperatures up to 90°C without any feeding pump. Tough construction materials enable testing of abrasive, aggressive, or corrosive fluids. The GEA Niro Soavi VHP PANDA homogenizer has proven especially efficient in many cell rupture (cell disruption) applications including bacteria, yeast, algae and plant cells.
  • Fermentation
    • GEA Diessel fermentors and bioreactors for microbial and cell fermentation 100 L - 10,000 L and beyond. GEA Diessel has a solution for all of your bioprocessing / fermentation needs because we understand bioreactors and the processes required to produce pharmaceuticals under strict cGMP guidelines.
  • Mixing
    • The Batch Formula™ Mixing Systems is an extremely versatile powder liquid mixing system. The system is available for a range of different batch capacities from 50 l (13 Gal.) to 15,000 l (3,900 Gal.).
  • Process Integration and Process Automation
    • we integrate equipment, systems and components into your operating plant and provide complete process automations systems for monitoring and control of all process steps, including information and management systems finalized upon customer detailed requirements. - less applicable in development settings
  • Cleaning Technology
    • for cleaning-in-place (CIP) and sterilization-in-place (SIP) we offer optimal systems for every task. We have developed single use, recovery, CIP systems and automatic washing cabin systems for cleaning and drying of mobile bulk containers. The product recovery system has been developed to reduce valuable product losses, by integrating this with the process.
