Niro supply a full range of customized batch fluid bed systems for food ingredients, chemical and pharmaceutical applications. Systems are available in various sizes, from laboratory and pilot-scale to large production units. Our batch fluid bed technology is developed by our sister-company Aeromatic-Fielder (located in Switzerland and UK) and it:

Aeromatic-Fielder STREA-1™ Advanced - Designed specifically for GMP applications. The STREA-1™ Advanced laboratory fluid bed combines versatility with table-top practicality. Purpose-designed for processing of fine powders, pellets, granules, crystals and tablets, the STREA-1™ is the flexible choice when taking the first steps towards process optimization in a GMP environment.

GILL PLATE™ Air Distributor - The process air brought into the fluid bed processor must be distributed so that the product is uniformly fluidized. The GILL PLATE™, is widely used in the continuous fluid bed dryer. The design was modified to address the batch fluid bed process requirements. The NON-SIFTING GILL PLATE™ has the same capability of distributing air as the previous design. However, unlike the previously used sandwich-type air distributor, the overlap GILL PLATE™ is easier to clean and, in fact, can be cleaned in place. These NON-SIFTING GILL PLATE™ air distributors are usually suitable for a unit in which the container is stationary and product discharge is by gravity or pneumatic means.

Ultra Coater™ module (coating takes place as a liquid is sprayed through radially directed nozzles onto the product which is made to rotate in a special manner to obtain the spray coverage necessary for optimum coating efficiency. In this way product handling is gentle and there is virtually no product attrition. This is an ideal system for coating large particulates such as tablets and capsules).
